About Kit

My name is Catherine ‘Kit’ Roupe. Colorado Springs is my home and has been since I was a soldier at Fort Carson in the 1970s. My daughter, Shanna is married and teaches special education. My son, Curt is an active-duty soldier with three completed tours in Iraq.

My Education

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, I continued my education in Masters work focusing on Economic Development and Public Administration. My professional experience covers 30 years of consulting and government work that involves building coalitions, organizing and running public hearings and forums, and participating in efficiency studies and environmental assessments. Today I continue this work as a Certified Planner with experience in land use, growth and capital improvements, and environmental management.

I believe political experience is necessary to be an effective representative. I know my 16 years political and 12 years volunteer experiences prepare me to serve you as your next House District Representative.

My Political Experience

Committee person for 14 years, election judge and supply judge, vice-chair Senate District 11, vice-chair House District 15, secretary Commissioner District 2, division leader in House District 16, Republican Leadership Program graduate in 2000, appointed by El Paso County to serve two terms on the Community Advisory Committee of Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments with two years as Chairperson, twice gubernatorial appointee to the 4th Judicial District Judicial Performance Commission and serving as the current Chairperson, secretary Community Advisory Committee Colorado Springs Police Department – Sand Creek Subdivision, and a School District 11 District Accountability Advisory Committee member. My Commitment to You

Just as I served in these positions, I am committed to working for you, every day as your Representative. I care very much about our District. I see empty offices and storefronts, graffiti, and my friends and neighbors struggling with health care costs and making ends meet working one or two jobs. As your Representative, my vision is to revitalize the economy and fill those offices and storefronts, provide jobs, make health care affordable, and encourage businesses to invest in our youth, economy, and you. I will work for you tirelessly everyday throughout the year. I want you to feel free to call me. My phone number is 238-4656.
